IoT Field Engineer

Job description:

Conduct Verizon DFIT and IoT Test Plans for UES including Altair LTE Chipset modules for consumer level products such as tablets and laptops. Conduct data throughput tests on UES for data types like HTTP, UDP, FTP, and Ping, and for comparison with Verizon reference UES. Perform call tests and functional testing of the social networking applications, email clients, SMS/MMS services, video hosting, and applications running on the Android-based LTE mobile platforms. Perform UE logging using tools like Wireshark, Altair MSGView, and Altair DBGView. Run various test scenarios, analyze and report test results, find defects in UE performance and functioning, and collect logs for these issues. Open CR for any issue discovered and direct to the appropriate team.

Educational/experiential requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in electrical or electronics engineering and two years of LTE mobile device testing experience.

Skill requirements: Experience with Anritsu, R&S, and Keysight test equipment.

Familiarity with AT&T 10776 Test Plan.

Experience with Verizon LTE device conformance test specifications.

Working knowledge of LTE specifications (NAS, RRC, PDCP, RLC).

Working knowledge of MSGView and Debugview Debug tools.

Demonstrated ability to analyze and debug logs to determine root cause analysis.

Travel requirements: Recurrent travel to testing locations in the Dallas, TX metropolitan area as well as carriers and vendors throughout the U.S. Travel expenses reimbursed by employer.

Other requirements: Telecommuting position. Must reside within commuting distance of the Dallas metropolitan area.
