Open Platform
Open Platform (OP™), an architecture based on Altair’s LTE baseband processor, provides
device vendors with the ability to leverage an internal and dedicated RISC processor running Linux OS to develop a variety of applications, eliminating the need for an external host processor for mid/low cost LTE devices.
Such applications include, among others:
- Hostless USB dongles
- Outdoor LTE Customer Premise Equipment (CPE)
- Indoor CPEs
- Pocket routers / mobile hotspots
- Machine to Machine (M2M) modules
The OP™ Software Development Kit (SDK) is based on a standard Linux distribution, and
includes interface drivers, sample code and a comprehensive set of tools to accelerate
development and production readiness.
