Encore Networks, a leader in M2M solutions for fixed and wireless communications, announced that Encore’s EN-4000™ family of routers has been certified for use on the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network.

By utilizing the Quanta Computer LTE only module and Altair chipset, Encore’s wireless routers leverage the advantages of high speed 4G LTE applications at significantly lower costs to the end user. Industrial and Enterprise customers can use 4G LTE as a primary or back-up connection, eliminating the high costs and challenges of wired network outages. The LTE only embedded module is smaller and consumes less power than dual band 4G/3G modules which can cost three times as much resulting in higher equipment prices and long term operational costs.

“Receiving Verizon certification enables Encore to better serve the growing M2M and Internet of Things market,” said Peter Madsen, President, Encore Networks. “Our customers can make their network future-ready by deploying the right module to enhance their M2M applications reliably.” Encore routers are designed for demanding M2M and Business Continuity applications in the harshest of network environments. The newest member of the Encore line is the compact and powerful EN-4000™ a high availability, full featured, broadband wireless router that provides IP, VPN, Firewall, Ethernet Switching and Legacy protocol to IP interworking for a wide range of M2M, SCADA, Video Surveillance and Enterprise applications. All Encore wireless routers move data to a public or private IP cellular infrastructure removing the dependence on copper lines while providing VPN technology with encryption.
